Write Down Your Workouts

I use to never write down my Workouts. What's the point? I go to the gym I sweat hard that's it. Well when I started to do an actual program I had to write it down. I realized how important it is to write your workouts down. Whether you are doing running on the treadmill or lifting weights, you should always write down your plan.
Why?
A couple of reasons. The first because you actually have a plan.
When you go the gym with a plan you are less likely to stand around wasting time and more likely to push yourself harder to get through the whole workout. It's also important for weight lifting and knowing how many reps you are doing. You don't want to go over to the weights pick up some weights and just do one set of 40. That defeats the purpose of weight lifting.
Some of you are probably saying well it's on my phone. Ok, that's great. Only if your phone never turns off and it's not strapped to you anywhere. If I am doing the Nike Training app this works because it's talking to me telling me when to start, when to stop, and what I am doing next. But that's not normally the case. So when my workout is on my phone I have to unlock it, hit home to get away from my music, find my workout, scroll to find where I'm at, and do this all while looking upside down at my arm. This is just not realistic.
The Final reason to write down your workouts is you can go back and look at what you did. You can repeat if you want and know exactly where you are. There's such a great satisfaction when you can go back and look at something you did.
So Write Down Your Workouts!
