I LOVE Hummus. Seriously. Trader Joe's original creamy hummus is my absolute favorite. Unfortuanlty I do not leave in the same town as Trader Joe's and so I have to wait for my trips to the town an hour away. I am unable to get my hummus as smooth as theres but I am able to get the flavor pretty close. Hummus is a great healthy snack with vegetables. It is loaded with protein and healthy fats that your body needs. Especially if you are like me and obsessed with working out. (more on that later)
After you have made your tahini paste, (or you can buy it) Hummus is a rather easy recipe to make.
You will need:
2 Cans grabanzo beans
1 clove of garlic
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbs Tahini paste
1/4 cup of olive oil
2 Tbs lemon juice
1. Drain and rinse one can of beans. Add both cans (including half the juices from one can) to a food processor
2. Add remaining ingredients and puree until the hummus is smooth.
3. Refrigerate for a couple hours to allow all the flavors to blend together and Enjoy!
