Everything is growing really well in it. I don't buy organic but I also don't like all the pesticides in my own house use. I'm afraid of my children and animals getting into it. I also like if at all possible to support local business and grow my own food so I know where it's coming from.
In this picture we have sugar snap peas, Green beans (planted two weeks apart that's why the other ones are much smaller), watermelon, and yellow squash.
If you don't have planter boxes pots work really well. I got lucky and there was some clearance wood that I was able to get for a screaming deal. Just make sure you read how big plants will get so you use the right size pot or are willing to transplant. Some of these plants are already ready for bigger pots or to be planted outside. The big plant in the middle is oregano, we also have zucchini, basil, chives, rosemary, mint, and an artichoke plant in this picture.
Tomatoes really don't do so hot here on the coast. But I thought I would have a go at it. These ones however have doubled in size in the last month. There's also carrots and broccoli and some more watermelon. Don't be afraid to try new things. When looking for soil don't be afraid to spend a little more money on the good stuff. We went to a local garden store and bought half mint mulch and half potting soil. If you don't know what to get ask a garden store they will know what works well for your area.
