Flourless Chocolate Cake
This cake is Amazing! It's super rich and a small piece goes a long way. If you have never had flourless chocolate cake you are in for a treat. It's dense like a brownie but more like a torte.
They are super easy to make and don't take any frosting or decoration.
So here's what you need:
1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
1 can Garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
4 Eggs
3/4 cup organic sugar (I used sugar in the raw)
1/2 tsp. Baking powder
Food Processor
Powder sugar (optional)
Fresh Fruit (optional)
First thing you need to do is melt your chocolate chips. The best way to do this is make a double boiler on your stove. Fill a pot about 1/3 of the way full of water. Set a smaller pot inside it. Turn the temperature on medium. Pour your chocolate chips into the smaller pan and allow them to melt. This prevents them from burning as they melt.
While the chocolate chips are melting. Get out a food processor and place the garbanzo beans and eggs in and process them till they are creamy.
Now add the sugar, and baking powder and process again.
Finally you are going to add the melted chocolate chips and process it for the last time.
Once it is smooth and creamy pour into a 9-inch round cake pan that has been well greased.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Once it's done allow it to cool in the pan on a cooling rack till it's cooled completely. Then invert onto a serving plate and dust with powder sugar and decorate with fresh fruit.
