Blueberry Barbecue Sauce

It has been super sunny and gorgeous here for three days on the Oregon Coast. It was in the 90's one day. That's unheard of here. So To make the most of the hot summery day I wanted to grill some chicken. I wanted some barbecue sauce but was to lazy to go to the store and thought I could probably make some with what I had at home. I wondered what it would taste like to put blueberries in it. Blueberries have tons of health benefits. So I gave it a shot. My son didn't love it but he ate it. My girls didn't even notice. They just saw barbecue sauce and were happy. I loved it as well as my husband. I put it on some grilled potatoes and some grilled chicken and it was pure heaven.

First thing is you put all the ingredients in a saucepan.
2 cups blueberries
2 Tbs. ketchup
2 Tbs. honey
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 cloves of garlic chopped
1/4 tsp. salt (I forgot the salt and it tasted just fine)
Start mixing and turn the stovetop on medium high. You want the sauce to start boiling.
Once it starts boiling turn the stove down to medium low and let simmer for 15 minutes or until slightly thicker.  (It's going to still look pretty runny)
Let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Once it's cool put it in your blender and puree it till it's smooth and creamy like barbecue sauce. Then apply it to your desired dish and enjoy!
